Info :: Tonino Caputo

Observing Caputo's works one senses something like a dim luminosity, a light preceding the already pale one of dawn. They are prompted by, and have as their subject matter, the industrial sections of New York, and the abandoned factories of the section of Rome called Testaccio, where the artist lives and works. He concentrates on geometry, perspective and architecture.

Info :: Ferjo

Ferjo creates a kind of magic in his paintings. In some ways this magic is overdetermined, calculated, fraught with unchecked desire. Yet through these magical compositions one may get the sense of another world determined by the artist's magic - a world of irrational occurrences where objects float above the floor, where walls disappear, where translucent bubbles are suspended in space, where the laws of perspective and scale are utterly defied.

Upon extensive examination of his work, one begins to understand how true and [profound that statement really is. The ability to integrate color, form, and subject matter result in the creation of painings rich in this sence of 'celestial cleanness'.

Info :: Hei Feng

Hei Feng started painting when he was merely 5 years old, as a student of the Classical Chinese Style. He soon began to infuse his own signature into his works. The artistic community first took note in 1985 during an exhibit in Beijing. The "Black Wind (Hei Feng) Style", with its successful fusion of Eastern and Western ideas, caused quite a stir. The exhibit became the debut of the first enfant terrible in China.

After a successful beginning of a promising career in China, Hei Feng took part in the pro-democracy movement in 1989. After being wounded by a bullet in Tiananmen square, and eluding the police and the military, Hei Feng found freedom in America by way of Hong Kong.

"Art is, first and foremost, a spiritual experience, both for the artist and his audience. When it reaches its summit in its maturity, it is no longer Eastern or Western. The best term for it is spiritual aestheticism. It is about technique. It is about style. But above all, it is about spirituality and vision."
